I was in the same boat. I have a Trek 7300 that I've put about 2300 miles on and made some upgrades to improve ride and performance. I perused CL for about 3 months and finally found a nice bike, Specialized Allez Comp that had a lot of upgrades and was low in price. I kept the hybrid and ride it about 3 times a week, cause a.) I ride at night, lots of sprinklers running, lots of water on the road b.) it's 28 lbs, so it good for training and c.) it rains alot at night in Florida, I figure I don't might it getting wet so much. I usually will take the road bike out during the day light hours and when I know it going to be dry on the weekends for longer rides. It's a good mix for me.
Take your time and don't pull the trigger on the first thing you find on CL, I almost did and would have missed out on a great deal a couple of months later. Save some money and get a little better road bike off CL and keep your old bike for a weather bike or a just around the hood bike.

you should learn to embrace change, and mock it's failings every step of the way.
