Reason why folks get SUVs with insane engines is the "HP = penis size" theory.

Guys want a 400HP Escalade to make themselves feel manly...Women just seem to get them based on either the safety myth (avoidance > crash mitigation) or the sheer comfort factor. There is of course the 2% who actually use them as an off-road vehicle...but those guys aren't the subject of my rants.

If a guy want s a balls out car....just go buy a freaking vette...or better yet...1996 Impala SS 350hp of land yacht lovin...and even it gets better fuel ecconomy than your average 350hp SUV....safer too. If you want safety, get a BMW or a Mustang. Don't forget the level 1 SCCA driving course, learning how to get the most out of your car is worth the $100 or so bucks the course costs. Mustangs are basically the poor man's bimmer...they are a bit less forgiving though (snap oversteer), so a race class is a good way to learn how to smoothly do rapid turns...plus the class is freaking easy, mostly just line and entry/exit technique (most of the driving is about 65-70mph and nothing very hard at all)....if they can't pass that, they should seriously reconsider driving at all.
