I had some trouble with salt when I was in Assateague about a year ago, but the bikes were on a roof rack overnight for a few nights and the air was full of salt mist on those overnights. The spoke nipples, bolt heads, and chain all took a pretty good beating, but cleaned up pretty much alright.

If it is at all possible to keep the bike indoors, do that instead.
