Down here in the South, when we are getting ready to do something, we say "I'm fixing to ride my bike" or "I'm fixing to go look up under that table for my wallet." "I'm fixing some grits; anyone hungry." The pictures need developing but I'm out of fixer.
Some might say "fixie" refers to the dealer on the corner that from which the junkies score their junk. Or are the junkies themselves called fixies?
