Do you have a picture? I use a universal type anchorage or a NOS cable for the hub end. If it is pulling out on the shifter end, your shifter may be damaged. You can braze a small piece of brass tubing on the shifter end if you don't have the proper cable. (I will have to check and see what sized tubing to use)
