I am actually surprised that specialized even had a 1 year warrantee on everything (including parts they do not make). I never thought to even enquire about component coverage when purchasing a new bike. I always assumed that the frame and components were treated as completely separate items (and that I just get a deal when I buy them together).

And I really wouldn’t compare a bike warrantee with a car’s warrantee.
