I picked up a Power tap 2.4 (wired) system today and the instructions claim the hub unit can pick up cadence either from the hub itself or by using the magnetic sensor which plugs into the head unit. How could the hub possibly know how fast you're spinning your feet?

If anyone has experience with this please let me know. I would love to not install the cadence sensor if I truly don't need it on there.

Also, can I install the receiver on the chain stay instead of the seat say? Or would this give me problems? I'm thinking it should be close enough ... but since my hub is off getting a new rim I can not test it.
