I just got an old kiddie trailer a few weeks ago that someone left outside by the garbage for free. The material is very weathered and the wood base is starting to come apart. I was planing to do something very similar to what you have done so seeing it done first is a big help. Now I just need to get a new wood deck for it and tear all the cloth off of it.
