The hill climb is basically a half mile uphill time trial. Map

The race itself is a rectangle with a rise on one leg, a downhill on another, and some flat in between. The corners are tight, and the hill on Riddle Road doesn't look like much at first, but it's is enough to split up the group in a race. I'd say it's similar to Shady Lane in the Hyde Park Blast, because you take a sharp turn into it at Springfield Pike, then take another sharp turn off the hill onto Woodlawn Blvd. There's a nice downhill on Grove Road, but you can't use it much because of the turn onto Springfield Pike at the bottom. Springfield Pike is flat, and Woodlawn Blvd rolls slightly. Map

You can get a sense of what the terrain near the start/finish is like in the photos I took last year. Link
