Bikes: 1959 Bottecchia Milano-Sanremo (frame), 1966 Bottecchia Professional (frame), 1971 Bottecchia Professional (frame), 1973 Bottecchia Gran Turismo, 1974 Bottecchia Special, 1977 Bottecchia Special (frame), 1974 Peugeot UO-8

You never know with eBay - I recently saw a complete early 70's Bottecchia Special in decent shape go for $100 while the identical frame which is just high-ten steel with pretty chrome went for $250. Go figure. My friend has a complete late 80's Dura Ace group and all the components to build a bike that he stripped off a Panasonic Team America with a dammaged frame and he thought $66 was too much for a DX4000 Tange 1 frame. I thought that was a fair price and all he needed to build up a nice bike. You just never know what people are thinking.

I found the perfect old Bottecchia Giro d'Italia on eBay, same color, decals, everything as the one I owned back in the 70's - I got it for $175 which I thought was a bargin. Then there was shipping which made it closer to $300. That was still OK with me. Then I found that although it was in great shape, a previous owner had replaced the original Fiamme red label rims with crappy steel clinchers. Another $250 to get the correct rims and have wheels built...and so it goes. But I'm still happy because it's what I wanted.

Where'd you find an NOS Bianchi Viggorelli for $675? That's an incredible deal!
