Well ok, so it may be bottom of the barrel to most of you guy, but to me its the top of the pile. Its my new Diamondback BSX Comp. You guys dont seem to get it over there in America. It seems a solid DJ/Light DH bike, and thats exactly what i plan to get into. I didnt get home until 8 30 tonight, and my mum picked it up around 12. So it was waiting 8 and a half hours in my hallway for me! Obvioulsy i only kicked it around the streets, but boy is it fantastic!! Tomorrow im off to get some K-Rad's for urban assaults, and scope out some new pedals/shoes. Im thinking something like a Mallet C (or
these Shimano's)with some of
these shoes. Its got some really good components on it, and its by far the best bike ive ever ridden, having stepped off the Yukon and Rincon. Comes stock with 8" Juicy 5's, Sun Singletrack's Shimano/Truvavtiv Drivetrain and a DirtJumper IV (fantastic btw). It retails for $1100 AUD, but it was down to 750!!! Needless to say it was snapped up. Tomorrow im heading to the local DJ's, and maybe the GoatFarm DH tracks, depending on the state of my ego after the DJ's. I have one question though. Ive never ridden a bike with hydraulic discs, and they feel alot less grabby than my old cable discs. Like, these just feel dead. I know theyre grabbing because i stop quickly, but i cant really feel it through the lever, as i could on the cables. Is this going to get better as they bed in, or is that just how hydraulics roll?
Cheers and excitement until tomorrow, Geoff.
