Bikes: Catrike 559 I own some others but they don't get ridden very much.

How loose is it?

There are several 1" headset cup sizes. Road bikes typically take 30.0 or 30.0mm cups but 30.0 might be kind of hard to find so I doubt that's your problem. BMX standard is 32.7mm so a typical road bike headset cup would seriously rattle around on the head tube.
