Any bike shop should have the cables you are looking for. The cables actually come with both types of ends... each style fitted to each end of the cable... then you just cut off the end you don't need and you are set. Cable should not be more than $3-$4.
Unfortunately, I've been to two different LBSs and neither had it. One mentioned that he did stock it, but he was out (and that he doesn't keep up on stocking them as he only needs a few every few months). A third LBS that I am near probably does not have it either, but there are a few that more I can call.
Also, I would need new friction shifters (or I assume that I would) unless I was going to switch the derailleurs as well (which I may have to in the long run, but am I trying to use the original parts).
I will look around at the double ended stuff and see if someone sells a pair of it instead of 50
(or find a shop that actually stocks it)
