I've been thinking the same thing. I was all set to buy my first road bike - a Trek 1000, mainly because I was scrapin to have enough money for that. A couple days ago I found out I will be comin into some unexpected money so I'm rethinking my purchase. I didn't win the lottery or anything lol, but I will have the ability to buy whatever, within reason. I would love to have a full carbon bike but don't know that I deserve it since it will be my first road bike. Plus, if I buy some fancy carbon bike people might expect me to be fast! ROFL The thought keeps goin thru my mind though "It sure would be nice to have a super light, comfy carbon"!!!!!
