Comfort is king for me as well. I just don't get the entire modesty issue when it comes to bike shorts at all. They don't show enough of anything to be an issue, in my opinion. It is not like wearing a skimpy bikini-bottomed bathing suit away from the beach or pool.
I also don't think that bike shorts are very flattering to a vast majority people, even including the lucky ones that were born with great-looking bodies. As for looking unflattering...well...function and comfort win out over looks with athletic wear every time. Winter sweat-clothes don't look that flattering either. I just don't get why it is such a big deal for some people.
