Be sure to look for a HID rated for 30W or less, otherwise you'll drain your battery way too fast. Even then, you'll need a pretty beefy battery to supply that much power for a useful amount of time.

Check out the HID lights at www.batteryspace.com; you may find that their kits are very comparable in price to car HIDs once you factor in the batteries and all the other stuff.
