Well it's not me who's looking for a bike. My friend is willing to spend about $500 for a bike that he wants. So he said he'd like to have dual suspension and aluminium frame. Since I haven't been checking out new bikes for a long time, I am not really sure what's out there now.

He's 6'4, thin and main purpose is casual trail riding.

I went to a shop in Towson, Maryland area and saw the 04 Giant Warp DS-2 for $499.97. Ha, it was a totally different bike from the DS-2 that I used to have 6 years back. Anyways, so it's dual suspension with decent parts. I am just concerned about the weight though.

I asked him if it's worth spending $500 on a bike when he will only use it in the summer( since we go to school else where for the rest of the year). Well, he's been wanting a bike for a long time so I guess he's willing to do that.

I am only familar with Giant bikes. I realised that all other bikes that has dual suspension will cost above a grand. I personally would like to have a Giant NRS but of course that's way beyond me. So if you know of a good deal, or some models that fall within the range, pls let me know.

Also, is there any good place to go to for "out dated" models, like 03 or 02 models that are new but sold cheap? I figured it will be the best. Thanx!
