Here's hoping I'm wrong, and picking up on digital artifacts in your photos, but those cups appear to be in worse condition than any I've ever overhauled. Did the bearings you replaced have corners on them? The cups I've opened typically have a highly polished inside surface - almost mirror-like. I'm suspecting that's the cause of your noise.
