How to make comfort bike more road-friendly
Hi,
I am a new poster, approaching 50 and not very fit. I want to start riding more and would like some advice.
My bike is fairly new, a Giant Sedona. I do not really need a bike that can be ridden off-road. All of my riding will be on paved roads or bike paths. The Sedona is pretty comfortable, but feels so heavy. I have been doing lots of 10 mile rides and would like to ride further, but feel like the bike is holding me back. I can't afford a different bike at this point, so I want to do what I can to make this work better for the time being. I have two questions:
1. I think the easiest/biggest difference could be made by switching out the tires. The bike has 26x1.95 tires. I want to switch these out for some "slick" tires, but am not sure how narrow I can go on these rims. Any suggestions?
2. Is there anything else that can be changed on this bike that would be not too expensive, but would make a noticeable difference in the weight?
