If you can replace the forks with a pair of Rigids- and you are only on the road- then this will be a big improvement. Suspension forks do slow you down on the bike- but be carefull on the replacement forks and "Try" to get a fork of the correct length. Too short a fork and you could have a very twitchy bike on steering.
