The Las Vegas Valley has public buses with racks for 2-3 bikes. If I needed to, I could take a bus to the nearest shop.
What route did you take? Through Red Rock somewhere? Depending on the route, centuries in Las Vegas (at least during the winter) would not be too hard. However, on a fixie is another story.
