In 1993 my wife purchased a Litespeed Ultimate, through Colorado Cyclist, for me. At the time I remember Litespeed offering a lifetime warranty to the original owner. The frame has since cracked and I am trying to warranty it. Now...Litespeed is owned by American bicycle Groups and I have been told the warranty on frames before 1996 was only five years. Sorry, I don't keep catalogs that old. But I have one piece of advice you may find useful. Don't let them know the bike was a gift. If you tell them that, they may be able to claim that your wife wasn't the original owner - the gift-buyer was.
