May as well join the (not racing anymore) club
Not to shed light on any of the other "taking a break" threads on the racing forum, I most likely will be done for a few weeks too due to injury (only 4 races left on my schedule anyway, 2 of which are TTs).
During my training ride on my TT bike yesterday morning, I pulled a muscle on my lower back as I sat up to pedal. It was so painful I couldn't unclip and had to keep pedaling to stay upright. The only comfortable position I found to pedal home was in my aero position. Imagine this sight of a guy in his full race kit in the aero position topping out at 10mph with a tailwind. Luckily I was only 4 miles from home when this happened.
Here's the kicker: I got my CAT 4 upgrade this week so it looks like next year to race in the 4s or find some late season out-of-the-area races. Hopefully I'll be ready for cross season that starts in Sept.
