Couldn't agree more. Worn out from work the past few weeks, last night finished off some work and went out around 9PM, I think it was around 10-10:30 and the moon crested the edge of the valley and came into view. It was amazingly huge, and had an aweome orange tinge to it. I have seen many full moons, but maybe because I have been so stressed lately, this one was particularly stunning. Sat there for awhile just staring at the moon, ranger came by didn't ask me what I was doing there that late, just looked at me & my bike, and commented on how glorious the moon was tonite and went on his way.

Odd thing happened too, I do a lot of my riding after dark, and was coming through a section of the valley right next to the river. Clipping right along htting bugs contantly when a group (flock?) of bats came swooping down through the beam of my head lights copping a munch of bugs. A couple of night riders I pass on occassion had mentioned riding with bats in the past, but this was the first time I actually got to experience the thrill.

It was just one of those nights where if I had a sleeping bag, I would have whipped it out and picked an open spot along the river, chaned my bike to a tree, and lay their gazing at the moon and the stars all night.

Title of your thread caught my eye, and I have to agree, there is nothing like the view from the seat of a bike! Thanks for sharing and reminding me!
