The paint isn't reflective, but all the logos are (including the "Handmade in the USA" on the seatstays), so at least it's not 100% stealthy. It shows dirt really well -- nice if you want "ratty"; bad if you want "pimpin'" -- but cleans easily enough.
No doubt that the BB's are heavier, though. You could also say "sturdier", too.
