yep. is that not recommended? i've ridden over a fair bit of nasty NYC pavement with nary an issue so far.
The edges of the hole for the spoke nipple, can wear and cut the part of the tube that bulges into the hole, when stretched under pressure.
If you've had no problems, then it's no problem. Whatever works.
