Rims

I'm looking at building a set of race tubular wheels and I find myself stumped on the question of rim choice.

I'm aiming sub 1350g for the pair. I can get myself Shimano Dura-Ace hubs quite easily, and using butted DT spokes and nipples will be the choice. The hubs are flexible though, so if someone can suggest something equally strong and light (avoiding Campy as I don't want to try and deal with the freehubs), I will consider it.

But that's not really the point. I'm more interested in the rim.

I've checked out Ambrosios, including the Crono F20 (320g spec), but that is a very non-aero rim, infact it's a very shallow cross-section.

Zipp rims are an option, but pricier (it may be cheapier to buy the complete wheels), I've also seen far too many cracked Zipps recently, and I'm more inclined to get something I won't think twice to race on in a Junior dominated crit.

Mavic are certainly a choice I am not discounting, and Alex rims, while not high on my list, are always an option.

Pre-builts are always an option true, but I'm hoping for the opportunity to build the wheel myself.
