Hematocrit is related but not indicative of performance. It's like engine displacement - you can get two 1.5 liter engines, one has 90 hp (my red car), the other is a 1200 hp monster (F1 engines circa late '80s). Hematocrit doesn't mean too much unless it drastically changes within the individual.

My goal is to hit 50% at a physical so I can take two weeks off from competition
