From: The Alta Loma area of Rancho Cucamonga. About 45 miles east of Los Angeles, California. Uphill, downhill and across hill riding; not too level!
Formula for calculating percent grade/rise on a street?
I know the distance and I know the rise in altitude for that distance.

How do I calculate the grade?
