The reason bike helmets aren't designed for that is that such helmets will be much heavier and the impact forces in cycling are much greater than in hockey, so such a helmet would be huge, hot and uncomfortable. Talk about mushroom...

No, the helmets we have today are fine. They're one hit and then replace. If you don't value your brain high enough to think it worth replacing helmets after a crash, then I feel sorry for you.
