Bikes: Mostly English - predominantly Raleighs

I have to agree with rhenning. You're more likely to find a rigid framed mountain bike that will convert to a decent touring bike than your Continental.

There are lots of relatively common vintage bikes that either were designed as touring bikes, or could be easily converted. For starters, get something with either downtube, or bar-end shifters. Cantilever brakes are a good thing to look for too.

For ideas on what you can do to convert, take a look here: www.veloorange.com
