But that's kinda the point I was making when I started the post - that old bike was great looking, had a beautiful ride, weighed a little over 24-lbs (much lighter than most Schwinns or Peugeots), lasted me 20 years and would have lasted longer if not for the accident...and yet on these forums all you'll hear is that its frame was cheap hi-ten steel, the components were low end, best to just make it a fixie, don't spend any money on it, yada, yada. While at the same time people are collecting and fixing up all sorts of Schwinns and Peugeots, even ones that weren't as nice as my old bike. Maybe I missed that part of the baby boom but I just don't get it
