Keep in mind that not all view the occasional crash as a necessarily bad thing. Nor is declining assistance. Hell, maybe the roadie didn't want to inconvenience you.
I think the occasional non-serious-injury crash is a good thing. It's a short-term painful lesson about what not to do, and a reminder of how much worse it could be if you do the same stupid thing again.
