I know some forks that would be perfect!
The Manitou Stance Flow forks are only about $250, and they have 120-150mm travel (adjustable), which is definitely enough travel to take the hit of a 5 footer.

I'm also thinking of gettin' a pair of these forks to upgrade the Splice on the Garyfisher Mullet I will hopefully have next week!(
