I was in the same boat,
Here is what you can do.
go to competitivecyclist.com and do your own measurements, try to be as accurate as possible (etc)
go to bikesdirect.com (he's looking for a deal) compare what you measured with what they have in their geometry charts for each bike.
Pick your bike, fine tune from there when you get the frame, and remember a slightly smaller frame is better than a slightly bigger frame, at least that's what i think the consensus is.
go to pricepoint.com and buy a 44 dollar tool kit for any adjustments / installing that you will need to do (it's a good investment anyway) once the bike arrives
use parktool.com for any guides if you need, but i think its really basic (assembling a BD bike that is).
Um, that's about it, you'll save a crapload of money too hopefully... right now they have the moto champion sl with ac420s for 1,100 if thats in your price range (if not, might as well find a bit more for a huge upgrade
