Ahh, then you should not have a wobble in the wheel. If anything was wrong the mech should have told you it (the wheel) couldn't be trued.(Unless you painted the elbows and threads.Then I could see the paint interfering slightly.)

As far as truing goes, from a pile of spokes, hub and hoop, it's not difficult, just requires a little patience if you're not familiar with the process. I'm not ashamed to admit that beyond a certain point, I just dont have it in me. It gets to a point where 'true" is just beyond my grasp. At that point I'll take it in to a shop and have 'em finish it for a $5-10.
