I see this thread played out here, moto, skateboarding, skiing...... I could care less if someone else does not wear a helmet. I have raced offroad motorcycles for years and won't even ride down my driveway without a helmet on, nor will I ride my bicycle to work with no helmet. Do I have some freak false feeling that just because I have a helmet on I can do back flips on my Lemond? Hell no, but should I somehow get hung up in my clips and crack my head on the pavement I would rather there be something in between me and said pavement.
I would like some laws changed though.... something to the effect that if you are injured on a bicycle, moto, skateboard, ski, etc... and your not wearing a helmet then we the taxpayers will not support your long term care. No matter how good your insurance is it will run out and we end up paying your bills based on your choice not mine.
