Also check your rear wheel. I had a guy come into the shop insisting he needed a new bottom racket. He had a "click" everytime his right foot was in the 3 o'clock position. Turned out he did have his rear wheel tight and every time he pushed hard with his right foot it pulled the wheel causing it to click.

I had a cracked lock nut on my rear wheel that clicked when I soft pedaled (fixed gear)...sounded like the bottom bracket.
