Mine just pushes in the tube until it lips. You then tighten down the top cap with the stem until you're happy with the adjustment (no play). Tighten the stem bolts. Then you can remove and throw the top cap away if you wanted too.
It's work is done. (It will keep stuff out of the steerer tube, so leave it on)
why throw the top cap/ compression cap? away for?? did I get that right?
Cause it makes no sense to me at all, hows that going to keep the headset tight for very long?
