werd, 6k for golf clubs is almost impossible unless you have 8 drivers. I've worked at a country club for 6 years and never saw anyone with 6,000 in clubs. The most expensive bags would have 1500 dollar Forged titleist irons (which you have to be a good golfer to play those things, as they are not forgiving at all), maybe the newest driver and a wood or 2 (600 for the driver, 300 for a wood), 300 in wedges, and maybe a high end scotty camerin putter (300 or so) Thats pricey, but not 6k.
Not too hard to get $2500 or so in a bag. My clubs aren't the most expensive, Taylor Made driver ($350), Three Orlimar woods ($250 each) R7 irons ($1200, and would be more if you went graphite) Rescue hybrid ($250), sandwedge ($100), Putter ($150)
But the real cost in Golf is the $25,000 initation fee, $400 a month memerships, the $4 balls, and the $25 cart fees.
Even bike racing with the travel is cheap compared to a serious golf addiction.
