In the last three years, I've flown to races on United, USAirways, and Delta. United used to be nice and give vouchers to USA Cycling members so the flight was free. The guys I knew who were flying cheaper airlines were paying $80 for their bikes so it kind of balanced out. USAirways has charged me $80 for my bike three times. The one time I flew Delta, they checked it as oversized luggage but didn't charge me any extra.
