Bikes: '96 Litespeed Catalyst, '05 Litespeed Firenze, '06 Litespeed Tuscany, '20 Surly Midnight Special, All are 3x10. It is hilly around here!

As mentioned above, extending existing threads isn't difficult with the proper tools and knowledge. I would NEVER go to the "cut and weld" shop for any work of any kind again. Those guys are dangerous.
