Bikes: Trek 830, Trek 520, Surly 1x1 fixed

I had to hand my two boys, 8 and 9, over to my wife in the salt mines( we work in parellel shafts) so I sugested to the monsters, that we bike the 6.5 miles there. They squacked, and I was about to drive instead of bike, but then I got a great idea. I sugested that they scooter to a bus, on which I could load my bike on the front, we stop for rootbeer, then bike/scooter a few more miles to my workplace.

They thought that this was a great idea. We did it and had fun the whole way. They zipped at an average 9 miles per hour, almost as fast as they bike! They did 4.25 miles under their own steam, and got a lot more exercise than they would have, if they had cycled. To make up for my abreviated ride in the afternoon, I took a long way home, when I came back, tonight. I look forward to doing this again.
