I was really scared of the Brooks saddles, but was amazed when I sat on one how comfy it was because for the first time ever I was on a saddle wide enough for my sit bones. Now, I may be perfectly comfy on other wide, non-leather saddles but the B17 did it for me.

From one wide-load to another, do yourself a favor and ride the B17. Buy it from wallbikes and you can return it if it doesn't work.

As for maintenance...why no fenders? If it's for aero-efficiency then I understand, but you can get a nice waterproof cover from Peter White that takes not a thing away from the feel of the saddle.
