My only road bike is a fixed gear and I actually ride it distance. I love the way riding around town helmetless and in street clothes feels, but that's just not well suited to riding very far.
Do everybody a favor and wear black though, sheesh. I was on a race team years ago and our "outfits" (because that's really what they were) were silver and red. Silver in the dickie area, red panels up the side. When we sweat the silver panels would become translucent. So at the age of 17 every chick that showed up to the races got to see my cock n balls.
