I have a "benchmark" route that is 22.5 mi. long and has two short but steep hills. Last year, at age 60, my best ave. speed on it was 16.6 mph. This year (actually last week) I did it at 17.8 mph. Pretty sure the 13 lbs. I lost has something to do with it. Generally in mixed terrain, over the course of 40-50 mi. I'm good for 16-16.5 mph.
