my question would be why are you getting an EPIC if you don't want to run clipless pedals. The EPIC is a no nonsense xc racing rig. To that end, the best and most efficient pedaling platform are clipless pedals. period.

There are better bikes to get at that pricepoint if you are just going to be tooling around, etc.. hitting a few jumps and taking fun rides or riding freeride and downhill
