You could also do this same technique with two white cloths that are not as wide - thinner, perhaps even like a very thick thread. Your result will be much like the grips of a "ninja" sword - cool, distinct, and really grippy! Saw it on a bike of some guy I rolled with for a couple blocks recently while downtown. Sweet looking setup.
