I've never heard of a light sold for a bicycle that is brighter than two automobile headlights. Maybe you should be worried about two cars passing in opposing directions. If I follow your logic, they will probably freak out and smash into each other.

On every ride I take some driver will gamble with my safety rather than slow just a bit to be able to pass me safely. Do I think that cars are my opponent? No, not the cars, but some of the owners are.
