More accurately, lots of people are happy with them (me included) and there are lots of people who are unhappy with bikesdirect, but do not actually own a bike from them. Few actually have a bike and are unhappy . . . one guy was unhappy about getting a seatpost and crank on their bike that was exactly as spec'd which made no sense.

I have one (a Mercier, but all these are just brand names for bd.com) and it was a killer deal. Many that hate have to do so to make themselves feel better.
